This is a catalog organization term, and has nothing to do with having to buy more than one pattern at a time. The Special Collections is also just a collection where you can find related patterns in most unique categories.
You can load up a shopping cart and walk away, only to find it waiting like a wish list, if you create an account on the website. This is not the same as signing up for the newsletter.
Enjoy yourself, think like a child, they have more fun with ideas.
